The property is owned by the Municipality of Dospat, is an agricultural area with a way of permanent use - pasture with shrubs. According to the approved and entered into force detailed development plan (DDP) the property is designated for construction of a composting installation and an installation for pre-treatment of mixed household waste. The site is located in close proximity to the regional landfill for non-hazardous waste about 650 m from the entrance of the installation and about 250 m in a straight line. The waste treatment site is generally divided into 2 main areas - an area for pre-treatment of waste and an area for composting biodegradable waste.
