Description:
The public contract is awarded in connection with the implementation of the National Program for the Prevention, Supervision, Control and Eradication of Animal Diseases, including Zoonoses in the Republic of Bulgaria for the period 2025-2027, adopted by the Council of Ministers with Decision No. 853/12.12.2024 and in view of the established for the first time on 31.07.2025, new serotype 8 of the bluetongue disease in ruminants. The program aims to protect the health of animals and people in Bulgaria and observe the principle of free movement of goods (animals and animal products) on the territory of the European Union. The performance of the foreseen measures for prevention, rapid limitation and eradication of the diseases under Art. 118 of the Veterinary Medical Activity Act (VMA) will guarantee the health of animals, the harmlessness and high quality of food products and raw materials obtained from them and protect people from zoonoses. The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency is obliged to fulfill the commitments made before the European Commission to prevent the occurrence and spread of diseases and to quickly eradicate any animal epizootics that may have occurred.
The terms and conditions under which it will be designated contractor under the public contract, are in accordance with the Law on Public Procurement (3OP) and the Regulations for the Implementation of the Law on Public Procurement (PPZOP). The procedure is based on the principles of the Law on Public Procurement.
