Description:
The purpose of the competition is to prepare a complete volume-spatial concept for the construction of a monument, perpetuating the personalities, work and civilizational European contribution of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, spiritual patrons of Europe. By means of the synthesis of architecture and plastic artsan impactful spatial solution should be achieved, suitably inscribed in the adjacent urban environment.
The place for situating the monument is adjacent to the garden "St. Ignatiy Starozagorski", representing land property 68850.515.328, district 124 of the city of Stara Zagora, following the authors and teamsto assess for themselves the most suitable position in relation to their project and idea, according to the scheme approved by ESUT Stara Zagora and the Municipal Council. Each position should be well argued, both as a position and as a direction in which its main compositional focus develops. The very garden "St. IgnatiusStarozagorski" is located at a nodal point in the city of Stara Zagora, formed by the intersection of the streets "Graf Ignatiev" in the north, "Petko R. Slaveikov" in the west, "Lyuben Karavelov" in the east and "St. Cyril and Methodius" in the south. These streets and the seclusion of the park are a prerequisite and suggest soobrathe connection of the project with the adjacent architectural environment, the urban planning features and the future impact of the monument - thematic, public and volume-spatial.
