- The subject of this public procurement is the delivery and administration of a vaccine for the oral vaccination of foxes against rabies. The public contract is awarded in connection with the implementation of the National Program for Prevention, Supervision, Control and Liquidation adopted by the Council of Ministers with Decision No. 853/12.12.2024 of animal diseases, including zoonoses in the Republic of Bulgaria for the period 2025 - 2027. The program aims to protect the health of animals and people in Bulgaria and observe the principle of free movement of goods (animals and animal products) on the territory of the European Union. In the program the priority infectious diseases and zoonoses, both for Bulgaria and the EC, are indicated, the occurrence of which causes significant health and economic damage to the country, and their rapid limitation and eradication contributes to the expansion of trade in animals, raw materials and animal foods origin. The implementation of the foreseen measures for prevention, rapid limitation and eradication of the diseases under Art. 118 of the Veterinary Medical Activity Act (VMA) will guarantee the health of animals, the harmlessness and high quality of the food products and raw materials obtained from them and protecting people from zoonoses. The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency is obliged to fulfill the commitments made before the European Commission to prevent the occurrence and spread of diseases and to quickly eradicate any animal epizootics that may have occurred.
