- Description:
- The main winter maintenance activities in all designated positions include: snow removal (patrol and periodic) of the roads until the appropriate degree and level of winter maintenance is achieved, clearing of drifts and snowdrifts and removal of compacted snow and ice layers and securing of anti-skid roads: sand spreading.
• Cleaning of municipal roads from snow (with a snow cover of more than 5 cm), from drifts during snow drifts in order to create normal passability for road vehicles in winter conditions.
• Sandblasting of areas with ice and steep sections, on which there is a danger of traffic jams due to the inability of cars to overcome them.
• The periodicity of cleaning/sandblasting/ on the territory of the municipality will be carried out according to the instructions of the Contracting Authority.
• During the execution of the order, the safety requirements must be observed working conditions, municipal regulations and laws of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Requirements for the operational condition of the traffic lane after snow removal and anti-icing activities: the presence of a compacted layer on the road surface is allowed in separate sections: leveled surface of the compacted snow layer: condition of the surface of the traffic lane - treated with chemical substances for melting snow and ice or sanded: maximum period for carrying out measures to combat the winter slipperiness of the road - 3 hours.
